Strong Kids at Kids Korner:

"My daughter goes to the Kids Korner program in Cromwell.  We don't have many kids her age that live in our complex but at Kids Korner she has lots of friends her age to play with, some are even boys!  She has a blast with the people who run the program.  Amy's time at Kids Korner lets me work later and longer hours and as a single mother working at minimum wage that's critical.  The financial assistance the Y provides makes all the difference for our family."

Strong Kids at Camp Ingersoll:

Your donations made it possible for 141 kids to have a great summer camp experience at YMCA Camp Ingersoll last year.  Two of those campers were brothers Steve and Matthew, who according to their mother, "had a great summer at Camp!  They took to it like ducks to water...I've never seen my boys so excited to be part of something so special...this simply wouldn't have been possible without the Y's generous support...they are already planning their future YMCA careers."

Strong Kids and Character Building:

As a camper at YMCA Camp Ingersoll, Melanie Downing knew she had found something special and her positive experience turned into a job.  She started as a Kids Korner group leader while in high school and is still with our Y after 11 years.  This summer she sent her daughter to Camp for the very first time. 
Today Melanie leads a staff team of 65 serving over 600 kids at 11 program sites.  Her early exposure to the values based, character building opportunities at Camp Ingersoll gave Mel a solid base upon which to build.  She is a terrific example of the "ripples" that come from early investment in our kids.

If we can build a strong kid today, they will help build strong kids tomorrow!
