Jessica's Story

"My childhood experience at the Y made me the strong woman I am today with the support of my gymnastics family!"

When Jessica was a young child and doing a local gymnastics program, she heard about the Middlesex YMCA gymnastics team. The coaches helped her discover her talent and introduced her to competition immediately after joining. When it became difficult for her family to afford competition team, the Y Open Doors program provided financial assistance for Jessica to continue with YMCA gymnastics well into her teenage years.

As an adult, Jessica now taps into her passion for the cause of the YMCA by teaching multiple group exercise classes to YMCA members who are focused on increasing their health and wellness. Jessica also gets involved every year with the YMCA Togetherhood Week in support of the Annual Community Support Campaign by encouraging her class participants to make a donation that will help others find their strength and reach their full potential in a Y program made available through financial assistance.
