NMYMCA BARRACUDA YOUTH SWIM TEAM
The Barracudas Swim Team is committed to providing an enjoyable and positive experience for swimmers while developing their endurance, skill, physical ability and mental stamina through a supportive and wholesome social outlet that encourages excellence, teamwork, and camaraderie. We are here for fun, teamwork, healthy competition, belonging and empowerment, and for the pursuit of a personal best!
This may be through the accomplishment of finishing a practice or swimming at a regional event; we have a place for all!

We offer structured competitive swim team practices including: stretching, warm-up, technique, endurance, and cool-down. Participants are expecrted to come to practice to work hard and improve skills. While it is not a requirement to participate in the meets, it does showcase the team aspect of swimming; you swim together, you win together!u win together!

CLASES DE NATACIÓN PARA PADRES / HIJOS

Entry point for most new swimmers aged 10 & under onto the swim team unless previous competitive swim experience. Swimmer should be able to swim 25 yards of the pool freestyle, 25 yards backstroke & should be comfortable diving from the side of the pool.

Practice Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Swimmers at this level can swim all 4 competitive strokes, can attempt to dive from a swim block and should be able to complete 100 yards freestyle without stopping.

Swimmers at this level have swum competitively, are committed to a practice & competition schedule and can navigate a full swim practice over 3,500 yards. For swimmers typically aged 13 & up but also for swimmers age 11 & up that are dedicated to growing as an athlete. These are swimmers looking for a serious challenge while having practices tailored to their ability.
