Forming healthy habits can be hard without a support system. We're here to give you the encouragement you need to eat better, increase your physical activity and lose weight — all of which can delay or prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. This FREE 12 week program is offered to anyone who has been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes who wants to have a healthier lifestyle. A prescription and release to exercise from your physician is required for enrollment.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Flexibility to start the program anytime.

3 month no cost membership to the Middlesex YMCA.​

Weekly email/zoom check in sessions with a fitness coach

and nutritionist.

7 bi-weekly in-person weigh-ins

Personalized exercise & nutritional

guidance

NUTRITION

Weekly one-on-one check-ins with a nutritionist. Goal setting to form sustainable healthy habits. Thorough examination of your typical diet to promote optimal blood sugar and energy levels. Take control of your health by understanding the unique relationship between food and diabetes. Graduate from the program with full confidence and control over your diet and health.

EXERCISE OUTLINE

Creation of a personalized workout plan using the FIIT principle to incorporate new exercise habits into daily lifestyle. Weekly check ins with a YMCA

Fitness Coach enforces accountability with maintaining an exercise routine. Set & refine fitness related goals. Opportunity for a fitness center orientation to enhance familiarity with the gym equipment. Build a basic resistance program to follow.
