WATER EXERCISE CLASSES FOR ADULTS

LARGE POOL 

Water Exercise is a great way to stay active and improve heart health, reduce stress, all while gaining strength.

Gain muscle conditioning and cardiovascular endurance without putting stress on the joints. It's also an easy way to challenge yourself and have fun, regardless of your age or physical abilities. You'll also benefit from:

  • Preventing falls and injury

  • Improve flexibility

  • Improve upper body strength

  • Injury prevention and recovery

AQUA FIT

Aqua Fit is a low impact, full-body workout performed in the pool that uses natural resistance of water to improve strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance and flexibility. Movements can be modified for all fitness levels, making this class ideal for beginners, seniors and anyone looking for a safe, refreshing way to stay active. Participants will leave feeling stronger, refreshed and confident in their movement

AQUA ZUMBA

Aqua Zumba blends the upbeat rhythms and dance moves of traditional Zumba with the low-impact resistance of water for a refreshing, full-body cardio workout.

Set to Latin and international beats, you?ll dance, splash, and move your way to improved cardiovascular health, muscle tone, and flexibility?all while being gentle on your joints.

 

AQUASTRIDE

This class focuses on water walking techniques that target the core, legs, and upper body, all while reducing stress on your joints. You'll stride, step, and stretch your way to better balance, endurance, and overall strength in a supportive and refreshing environment.

Combines the challenge of traditional boot camp drills with the resistance and buoyancy of water for a full-body workout that's both effective and joint-friendly. From strength-building exercises to cardio bursts, you'll perform everything from sprints and treading water to resistance movements, all while working your core and improving endurance.

WATER WORKOUT is held in the Small Pool once a week for 8 weeks. A low to mid impact class which assists with gaining range of motion and strength. Work with equipment and water resistance as well as water walking to increase cardio endurance. 

WATER WARRIORS

LARGE POOL

WATER WARRIORS is held in the Large Pool once a week for 8 weeks. Strengthen and tone your muscles while increasing your cardiovascular endurance. Combination of low and higher impact moves including runs, kicks, jumps, twists, suspension & resistance work.  Equipment is provided.

You may register for more than one day!

Healthy Living Programs at the Y are small-group training programs designed to build strength, boost confidence, and support overall wellness in a motivating, community-based setting. These programs focus on safe, effective movements that help you grow stronger while staying consistent and supported. Build muscle conditioning and cardiovascular endurance while keeping impact low and form front-and-center. I

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned fitness enthusiast, the trampolines soft surface reduces stress on your joints while delivering maximum results. POWER HOUR

Power Hour is a total-body circuit strength small group training program designed to build muscle, increase strength and boost endurance in just one efficient hour. Participants move through timed stations using dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, bodyweight and functional movements to challenge the entire body. Expect a motivating atmosphere, clear coaching and a workout that leaves you feeling stronger, more confident and energized.

Kettlebells are unique, as they will holistically improve whole-body strength, endurance, and coordination. Kettlebell exercises purposefully target multiple muscle groups, mimicking day to day activities and refining the functional movements we all perform in life on a regular basis. All skill levels are welcome to class and as the weeks progress, so will the kettlebell techniques you will learn. Come join and enhance your well-being and health!

Cycling enthusiasts and those training through the winter, this extended session simulates a challenging outdoor ride with varied terrains, including hill climbs, flat sprints, and steady endurance segments. Total Strength Lab is a dynamic, full-body strength program designed to build power, confidence, and functional movement. Using kettlebells, dumbbells, and resistance bands, you'll focus on solid strength work that translates to real-life movement. Then finish strong with a short, energizing cardio finisher. Expect efficient, purposeful training that leaves you feeling strong, capable, and accomplished.

This fun, confidence-building class introduces young players to the basics of basketball with the support of a parent or caregiver. Kids will learn simple passing, dribbling, and shooting skills while staying active, making new friends, and enjoying a positive, non-competitive atmosphere.

Focusing on participation, building confidence, and having fun, participants will learn the basic skills of basketball. Kids will learn the fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and shooting in basketball, all while being able to meet new friends, and learn in an active, non-competitive, and engaging atmosphere

Dance, Craft, Laugh, and have fun with Julia, our Assistant Camp Director! Participants and their guardians will have a movement activity every class along with a craft. Everyone will learn movement patterns, simple games, and manipulative skills (brushing, gluing, taping, cutting)!

INTRO TO TUMBLING & ACTIVE MOVEMENT
ages 4-8 years

FITNESS STUDIO

Join us as we learn the basics of tumbling and active movements! Classes will incorporate the fundamental skills of balance, flexibility, and body control, which will provide the building blocks for furthering gymnastics and parkour skills. Students will work to improve flexibility, strength, body awareness, and focus on technique to ensure safety.

LITTLE CHEFS CLUB
ages 3-12 years

5:30pm - 6:30pm

PARTY ROOM

Practice basic cooking fundamentals, kitchen skills, and safety. This hands-on class includes a new homecooked meal that you can take home or eat in class, your very own recipe book, and a personalized chef's apron.

*Adult is required to attend class with any participant 8 years old or younger.

JUDO
MIDDLETOWN JUDO CLUB

Judo offers a recreational martial arts program which enhances physical and mental discipline. New participants welcome. Registration for the Advanced class on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:45 am also include a drop in class on Thursday evenings 6:50-7:50pm. Participants must register for the Saturday class in order to attend the Thursday drop in.

12 WEEK $0 Grant funded wellness programs ensure our ability to offer equitable access. 

Offered to anyone who has been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes who wants to have a healthier lifestyle. A prescription and release to exercise from your physician is required for enrollment. 

LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and wellbeing following a cancer diagnosis. Survivors increase strength, develop supportive relationships and increase their quality of life.
