Discover a Summer of Fun!

Learn. Play. Grow.

Looking for an exciting summer experience for your school age child (entering 1st through 6th grade)? The YMCA Summer Enrichment Camp offers eight weeks of discovery and hands on fun. Each week a different theme engages children in a fun filled journey of experiential learning. This program is a great fit for children who like art, science and creative exploration. Mornings are spent diving into theme filled activities and afternoons are full of recreation and play.

Camp hours are 8:00 am-5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

July 14, 2020 COVID-19 Update:

The YMCA is committed to running a Summer Enrichment Camp this summer for our working families. However, we do know this summer will look very different than in previous summers.

We have worked closely with the Office of Early Childhood to develop policies and procedures to keep children safe and will update the website as soon as we receive information to provide to parents.

Summer Enrichment Camp will begin on Monday, June 22nd. Online Registration is ongoing until spaces are filled.

Some Important Information for Parents:

  • The overall number of campers will be greatly reduced to allow for social distancing practices within the YMCA. We will only be taking 30 campers. Children will be grouped into 3 groups of 10 and will remain with the same group all week and ideally all summer. Siblings will be grouped together in the same classroom.

  • Staff will no longer be taking children's temperatures before they enter the program space. Parents will all sign a Health Disclosure policy that states that families are required to inform the staff of any changes in their child's health that include, but not limited to flu or virus symptoms, fever, rashes, etc. Any child that has been ill will not be permitted to return to the program until they have been fever-free without the use of medication for 72 hours.

  • We will not be taking any field trips this summer but will be getting some special presentations by local museums, businesses, and art studios.

  • Governor Ned Lamont has placed a travel restriction on states that have a higher than 10% positivity rate of COVID-19. This travel advisory applies to all travelers whose travel originate from the impacted states and also applies to Connecticut residents who are returning from a visit to the impacted states. This list may change but as of July 14th, there are currently 22 states with travel restrictions: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin. Any families that have traveled to any of the locations above (and more may be added in the coming weeks or months) must abide by the Governor’s travel restriction and their child will not be able to come to the Summer Enrichment Program.

  • We will NOT be able to offer before and after care. The hours of camp will be 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday-Friday.

  • All parents must sign off on the following forms before the first day of camp:

During this ever-changing situation, we ask that parents be aware that information is constantly changing and we will update the website as we receive information and guidance from the Office of Early Childhood, the Local Health Department, and CDC.

Directions on how to register for Summer Enrichment

  1. Go to the main Middlesex YMCA website and select "Register Online."

  2. On the next page, you will select "SIGN UP" (If child has never attended Kids' Korner or had a YMCA membership before select this option. If your child is a current KK participant, please see #3). You will then select the "Program Youth Summer Enrichment Membership" in order to register the child. All children must have a program membership to attend YMCA Summer Enrichment.

  3. If your child is a current participant in Kids' Korner, choose "Log in now" as an additional membership is not required as they would already have an active membership.

  4. You will be required to pay a $50 deposit for each week you are registering for at the time of registration. The deposit amount comes off of the total weekly fee. This deposit amount will be taken once the YMCA receives your online registration.

  5. Once you have set up your account or logged into your account, you will click on "categories" and then select Summer Enrichment. From there, you will choose the weeks you are registering your child to attend YMCA Summer Enrichment.

  6. In order for the registration to be completed, a credit card is required to be on the child's account. Automatic payments that are set up to the card can be cancelled after the YMCA receives confirmation of the registration ONLY if you notify the YMCA that you do not want to be automatically charged   If no card information is entered, the registration will NOT go through and your child will NOT be registered.

  7.  An email will be sent to families with the total deposit amount that is due. This email will be sent within 72 hours of registering online. Families will then log back into their account to pay those fees or can give permission for the YMCA to use the card on file to process the payment.  Failure to pay the deposit within 48 hours of the email being sent will result in cancelation of your enrollment in the program. Program spaces cannot be held without the deposit.

  8. You will have to repeat these steps for every child you are registering for Summer Enrichment.

  9. If you currently have an outstanding balance for any YMCA program you will not be allowed to register for YMCA Summer Enrichment Camp until past balances are paid.
