Meet our New Aquatics Team

About Brye:

We are excited to announce that Brye Lewis has joined our team as the new Aquatic Director. Brye comes to us from the Meriden YMCA where she has worked for over ten years, most recently as the Aquatics Coordinator where she oversaw all youth swim lessons and taught lifeguard classes for the past eight years. Her experiences at the Y include 12 years swimming competitively, volunteer swim lesson instructor as a teen, lifeguard, swim instructor staff, coach, aqua aerobic instruction, front desk staff and childcare. Brye has a passion for teaching others about water safety and providing knowledge and skills that they will have for the rest of their lives. Welcome Brye!

About Jaimie:

We are excited to announce that Jaimie Fuller has taken on a new role within our team as the new Lifeguard Staff Coordinator. Jaimie has been with the Middlesex YMCA for the past 13 years. Her Y experience includes swimming on the Middlesex YMCA Barracuda Swim Team and keeping our members safe as a lifeguard. We know Jaimie will do a fantastic job behind the scenes coordinating our lifeguard staff team. Congratulations Jaimie!

As a Y of the USA certified swim instructor and trainer, Carla will continue to be a strong member of our instructor team as well as engage with our members as a lifeguard. Our Commitment to Inclusion:

The Y is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life working side by side to strengthen communities. Together we work to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race or sexual orientation, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Our core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility—they guide everything we do.

The Northern Middlesex YMCA does not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, including the use of bathrooms and locker rooms. YMCA patrons are permitted to use the bathroom and locker room of their gender identity. If any patron would prefer more privacy, that patron may use our co-ed locker room and/or our individual bathrooms located in the Lobby or Family center. The YMCA is committed to adapting our policies as we continue to evolve and create a more inclusive environment for all.
