Black Lives Matter: The Y Stands in Solidarity

June 5, 2020 Over the past week, the national conversation has moved from the pandemic crisis to racial inequalities that equally plague our communities. Over the weekend, non-violent protests took to the streets to say that enough is enough, and that there is a need for change; that all of us need to see that Black Lives Matter too. A very successful peaceful protest took place in downtown Middletown with an estimated 750 people in attendance including many Y staff and members. The Northern Middlesex YMCA stands in solidarity with those who chose change through nonviolent ways. We salute those who meet destruction and despair with kindness and progressive actions. There needs to be justice
