Nine members swam 36 miles in just one week!
Kelly at the Welcome Center shared a great testimony from swimmers, Alex and Katie K, "Katie said she hadn’t realized just how hard a mile is to do compared to do at her age now compared to when she was younger. They both said it helped them keep track of their pace and they enjoyed seeing their time improve throughout the week, as well as push themselves to get to 5 miles, which they hadn’t been doing. They now want to continue to track their pace and push themselves to accomplish more miles." Congrats to all the swimmers! Hope your experience was as positive as Ned who emailed this feedback, "Good morning, I completed mile 5 this morning. Thank you great program, great people!"
A new donor shared that she was interested in donating because of the swim challenge! She said, "I was on my way to the Y today and was just reminiscing about how I used to get a t-shirt for completing a 100 mile swim." She enjoyed doing that so much, that when Y staff, Kelly mentioned the swim challenge, she got really excited and said she didn’t even care about the prizes we were offering, just the option to participate in a fun swim challenge.
“All kids should know how to swim. Period. It’s so necessary for their safety. I’m especially giving because my daughter Jessie, a former Y lifeguard and swim team coach, is so adamant about this.” said Louise P. as she made her donation to Kelly at the Welcome Center.
